SUMMARY:General Meeting- March 2022
DESCRIPTION:Join us for networking and lunch at our March General Meeting at Oak Marsh Golf Course! \n\n\n\nWe are excited to welcome the Oakdale area's newest entertainment venue\, The Burrow\, to talk to us about their brand new investment in the city. Thank you to Platinum Bank for sponsoring!\n\n\n\nOur Keynote Speaker is Steve Fredlund who will speak on "Becoming a Happier Leader" \n\n \nAfter 30 years of corporate experience (actuary\, analytical)\, Steve launched his own business helping entrepreneurs\, microbusinesses\, nonprofits and other smaller organizations. As part of his overlapping 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience\, Steve started an effort bringing transformation to a community in northern Rwanda\, where he traveled four times in his volunteer role of Executive Director. Counting all of the other efforts he has launched and led (podcasts\, membership sites\, community organizations) or boards he has served on\, Steve estimates he has about 50 years of equivalent leadership experience over the past 30 years.\n\n \n\nSteve has experienced the highs and lows of leadership\; times when momentum was lost and times of exciting growth. He knows what it is like to be completely engaged and excited as a leader and what it is like to feel completely lost and defeated. \n\n \n\nRecently Steve has been on a quest to understand the driving factors that stand in the way of a leader's happiness\; he has carefully assessed his own experience\, done research and talked with other leaders. There are a number of common themes that have emerged\, that he is now working hard to share with as many leaders as he can\, in hopes they can become the happy\, strategic\, visionary leader their organization needs.\n\n \n\nSteve is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries\, has an MBA with emphasis in Nonprofit Management and is a former Fortune 500 company Employee of the Year. He has spent his entire life in East Central Minnesota with his wife Tracy and their three\, now-grown children. He loves podcasting\, poker\, disc golf and enjoying Minnesota sports (making fan-hood far more difficult).\n\n\n\nMore about Steve at stevefredlund.com.
